hand in hand is a creative platform which its principle is to generate a symbiosis between design, craft and environment where designers work hand in hand with artisans in order to preserve, develop and innovate traditional handcrafts that in today’s economical context would otherwise slowly decline.

hand in hand est une plateforme créative dont le principe est de générer une symbiose entre le design, l’artisanat et  l’environnement où les designers travaillent main dans la main avec des artisans, afin de préserver, de développer et d’innover l’artisanat traditionnel qui dans le contexte économique d’aujourd’hui, péricliterait lentement.

Patricio Sarmiento, diplômé de l’Institut Francais de la Mode (IFM) et de la Parsons School of Design (New York & Paris), a collaboré en tant que designer avec d’importantes maisons de haute-couture et prêt-à-porter en France et à l’étranger: Maurizio Galante, Louis Vuitton Malletier, Leonard, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, etc. 

Patricio Sarmiento mène une approche polyvalente du design. Ses capacités sont autant mises en œuvre dans le travail du textile que dans celui des accessoires et objets de design, jusqu’à l’organisation de défilés de mode. Il travaille actuellement comme professeur, développeur académique et directeur artistique à l’Ecole Paris College of Art (auparavant l’Ecole Parsons à Paris).

Patricio Sarmiento holds a Masters from the Institute Francais de la Mode (IFM) and a BFA in design from Parsons School of Design (New York & Paris), he has collaborated as a designer with major Haute Couture and luxury Fashion houses in France and abroad, to mention some: Maurizio Galante, Louis Vuitton Malletier, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein.

Patricio Sarmiento has a multidisciplinary creative approach, as a designer his projects varies from fashion to product design and as Artistic Director from fashion shows to gallery exhibitions. Currently Mr. Sarmiento is teacher, academic developer and art director at Paris College of Art (previously Parsons Paris School).
